Description/History:It is a square card with a gold border and a geometric parrot and heart design. In the center is an illustration of a boy and girl. In the inside is another illustration of a boy and girl fishing with a heart hooked on a line. The verse is " Take it gently off your hook, Take a careful steady look, You will find my Valentine, That big heart you've caught is mine". On the back is printed, " Whitneymade, Worcester, Mass, Made in USA". Handwritten is "To Mary Johnson , From Howard Welsh". It is a valentine given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane (1909-2001) of Mt. Vernon during her school years.
